You are wise not to attempt to make a cat in the hat. I suspect that a cat in the hat would result some mean looking scratches on your face and arms.
We put some clip on reindeer horns on our rabbit on Christmas day. He hated them but they looked cool. For about a minute. Long enough for photos so that's all that really matters.
