Compared to when I was a kid and strawberries, cherries, etc would only be available in summer, in recent years typical summer fruits can be found in the dead of winter here - shipped all the way from the US!Rita (mademoiselle délicieuse)https://www.blogger.com/profile/12353807765589132835noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6259536473826194612.post-48615144056920687652011-06-12T21:39:19.059+10:002011-06-12T21:39:19.059+10:00Delicious looking pasta - lots of lovely greens. ...Delicious looking pasta - lots of lovely greens. However, I'm with Reem on this one. I always think fresh fruit and veg is best bought from a farmers market, community supported agriculture organisation (like Food Connect) a fruit and veg store, market or an independent supermarket. It takes a bit more effort to start with but the long-term gains benefit all of us.<br />Of course, we are all caught short sometime, though, aren't we?Amandahttp://www.lambsearsandhoney.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6259536473826194612.post-27787697292208510892011-06-09T22:57:41.171+10:002011-06-09T22:57:41.171+10:00And this is why you shouldn't shop for fruit a...And this is why you shouldn't shop for fruit and veg at places like woolies if you can afford/avoid it. We try to go to local markets, or order mixed box of fruit and veg (usually around $40) that's seasonal and lasts us a fotnight. I only use Coles/woolies for packaged grocery items these days. But I am aware that some people can't access or afford this.Reemskihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14359605376494783256noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6259536473826194612.post-52537899294194596962011-06-09T20:50:53.345+10:002011-06-09T20:50:53.345+10:00oh!
